I agree what your team needs to edit and choose the implementation approach around that, rather than installing a large collection of tools by default.

For a new site, we establish the content structure and design before implementation. For a redesign, I review the current pages and identify what needs to be retained, improved or redirected. An attractive replacement should not casually discard useful content or working enquiry flows.
Functionality with a clear purpose
Forms, content collections and integrations are chosen for the actual business requirement. Some needs can be handled by a suitable existing plugin; others may justify custom work. Plugin licenses, hosting, ongoing updates and any external services are discussed separately so the operating costs are visible.

Can you keep my current WordPress content?+
Usually, but the content types, page builder, theme and plugins need a review first. The scope should identify what transfers directly, what needs adjustment and which URLs must be preserved or redirected.
Will I be able to update the website myself?+
The editing setup is designed around the changes you need to make regularly. I include handover guidance for those tasks and explain which changes still need development support.
