Backend & API Development.

Make the systems behind the screen work together.

I develop the backend that handles application data, business rules and communication between systems. This service suits teams with an existing interface, an integration problem or a clearly defined server-side requirement. If you need a complete product from the beginning, web application development is the broader starting point.

Turn business rules into explicit behavior

A backend needs to know more than where to save a record. Who can create it? Who can change it? What is a valid state? What happens if a request is repeated? I work through these rules with the data model and API contract so the interface has dependable behavior to build on.

Connect tools without hiding the edge cases

Integrations can connect an application with payment services, email providers, CRMs or other APIs. The useful work includes handling unavailable providers, unexpected responses and repeated events. We agree how failures are reported and which actions can be retried safely.

Define access around the information

Authentication identifies the user; authorization determines what that user can do. The scope covers the relevant roles, ownership rules and protected operations. Secrets and production access need appropriate handling, and sensitive information should not become convenient debugging output.

Build for the requirements in front of us

Python, C#, .NET and PHP can support different backend needs. The choice depends on the existing application, team familiarity, dependencies and deployment environment. I avoid adding infrastructure simply to make the architecture look more sophisticated.

What you receive

The agreed endpoints or integrations, data-model changes, validation and access rules, useful API documentation and deployment notes. Testing focuses on the business rules and failure cases that matter to your system. Performance requirements, operational monitoring and migration work are scoped explicitly.

Start with the boundary of the work

Share the current application, the systems it needs to connect and the data that should move between them. API documentation or example requests help. If access to a third-party system is still pending, that dependency should be visible in the plan before implementation begins.

USEFUL TO KNOW

Before
we begin.

Can you work with my existing frontend developer?+

Yes. An agreed API contract, example responses and clear ownership of integration work help both sides progress without guessing how the other part behaves.

Can you repair a slow or unreliable API?+

Yes, after reviewing its behavior and environment. Diagnosis comes first: database queries, external dependencies and application logic can produce similar symptoms but need different fixes.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Tell me what
needs to change.

Tell me which systems need to connect, what data is involved and what is failing or missing today.
